TCMA wins ‘Outstanding Contribution’ Climate Action Award 2025,reinforcing its leadership in decarbonization as cement industry accelerating towards Net Zero 2050

Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA) has received the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ Climate Action Award 2025 from the CCI Climate Change Forum 2025 by the Federation of Thai Industries’ (FTI). This is yet another proof of TCMA’s strong performance in greenhouse gas reduction. The award underscores TCMA’s leadership in steering the Thai cement industry towards decarbonization in line with the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, earning both domestic and international recognition.

Mr. Montri Nithikul, Vice Chairman of Thai Cement Manufacturers Association (TCMA), stated that TCMA is firmly advancing the Thai cement industry towards net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, in alignment with the Thailand 2050 Net Zero Cement and Concrete Roadmap, a shared long-term goal consistent with Thailand’s NDC 3.0 and global climate action frameworks.

TCMA is actively promoting decarbonization through collaboration with all cement manufacturers and multi-sector partners at both domestic and international levels. Key progress includes the promotion of hydraulic cement as the main structural cement, reducing carbon emissions by over 1 million tons annually. TCMA is also supporting the research and development of new low-carbon cement such as calcined clay cement, as well as encouraging the adoption of technologies for low-carbon mining and resource-efficient practices in line with government policy. The association continues to strengthen the circular economy through initiatives to turn waste to value, leveraging the cement industry’s production processes to add value to waste materials. These efforts aim to reduce carbon emissions by at least 6.9 million tons by 2030. In addition, TCMA is promoting innovations that accelerate clean energy transition.

At the local level, TCMA is working to transform Saraburi Province into a “SARABURI SANDBOX LOW CARBON CITY” through various pilot projects. This initiative is supported by partners across the public, private, and civil society sectors, together with leading global organizations committed to carbon reduction. Collaboration includes technological partnerships and green financing, all contributing to the cement industry’s pathway towards Net Zero 2050.

“TCMA would like to thank the Federation of Thai Industries awarded the ‘Outstanding Contribution’ Climate Action Award 2025 to TCMA, the only one organization this year. This award is a testament to our commitment to continuous action. TCMA will continue working with partners to lead the cement industry’s dynamic decarbonization towards Net Zero 2050” said Mr. Montri Nithikul.
